Police nab two Bihar men red-handed trying to smuggle alcohol from Howrah station
In response to recent acts of hooliganism in Kolkata's Dharmatala area, various groups have organized a large-scale 'Tiranga Yatra' across the city on Monday. The tricolor marches were taken out from Sealdah and Golpark to mark a public protest against the violence. Protesters and organizers gathered in large numbers, carrying the national flag to voice their opposition to lawlessness.
In North Kolkata, the rally started from Sealdah Station and will terminate at the Dorina Crossing near Dharmatala. Simultaneously, the South Kolkata leg of the march originated from Golpark Crossing and proceeded toward the Jadavpur 8B bus stand. Both routes cover high-density commercial and transit zones in the city.
During the protest rally against NEET exam irregularities at Kolkata's Dorina Crossing in Dharmatala, the demonstration escalated into chaos when unidentified non-student groups allegedly infiltrated the procession. The agitators turned hostile towards media personnel and security forces, hurling stones, sticks, and bottles, which resulted in several journalists and police personnel sustaining injuries.
